Question: What do you like the most about Northwest Christian Church?

"NWCC is truly a place to belong. We’re a church that really cares about people and their individual needs. This is a church that is a perfect fit for people of all ages and in all stages in life.

The pastoral and support staff, as well as the elders, are always open, honest and transparent about who they are and what they’re about. Jesus is Lord at NWCC!"

"The thing that I was looking for first and foremost when I entered the doors was to see the truths of the bible being preached at the pulpit. I have been to so many other facilities where the truth was not spoken and the preacher was doing the crowd pleasing sermon. It was so reassuring to hear the Word of God actually preached in truth and love! The other thing that stands out to me was the warm and friendly atmosphere that was shown as soon as you walked through the doors of the building. I loved the sincere hugs that I received from a special Elder that we have and new that I had found my church home!"

Kim Barnes

"When I first walked through the doors of NWCC with my family, I knew we found a home. The hugs, the sincere and genuine welcome we received was awesome. I have learned alot since becoming a new christian with NWCC; they are my family. I have made lifelong friends, and my kids love to come to church, and we try to come to all the functions so we can stay active in the Lord. I read the bible more and am learning so much through all the studies I do at NWCC. I believe NWCC has helped me grow spirtually and continues to show me the word of God everyday."

"I had not attended church in many years before realizing that it was in my kids best interest to find a church home. My goal was to find a place where we could go on the occasional Sunday morning. Every church we attended, just didn’t feel right. I always felt I was being ‘judged’ by others. My oldest daughter attended VBS in June 2008 at NWCC and came home with rave reviews of how nice everyone was. Kim Barnes invited us to attend one Sunday and I will never forget the warm feeling the first time I walked through the doors. Everyone greeted us with a smile and some with a hug. There was no pressure or judgement. We were treated with warmth, love and care — regardless of our stage of faith. I now cannot imagine only occasional Sunday attendance. NWCC is our extended home and even my kids count down the days to when we go again. In our house, we’ve adopted the NWCC phrase, ‘It’s a get to, not a got to’ and it is truly an incredibly wonderful feeling. NWCC is one of our family’s greatest blessings that we thank God for daily."

"When we first came to NWCC, the warmth and reception was awesome. I understood the welcome team from churches I had previously been at, but they seem a notch above the others I have known. To top that there were many people outside the welcome team greeting us. As the "guide," Mr. Randy lead us back to the kids area. You felt not only welcome, but you felt the genuine love reaching out to you and like you were an instant part of NWCC from the first Sunday. The staff is great and elders wonderful. From other churches I have been at the organization of things at NWCC is wonderful. NWCC wants you to serve, but also seems to have a concern for you not to get burned out… to get fed yourself and stay energized. We are so blessed to have NWCC as part of our family… you know blood is thicker than water and there is no blood like Jesus’! He bonds us together!"

"Two things really struck me after our first visit to Northwest. First, the Children’s Ministry was outstanding. It wasn’t just a place to drop the kids off to have someone babysit them for an hour. Kellie Dailey, Angela Pahl, and the rest of the staff demonstrated genuine concern for my kids. I can’t say that about every church I’ve been a part of. Second, Detra and I both remarked that Northwest was doing a lot of things that other churches aspire to do or profess to do. Ron’s challenge of expecting you to serve and plug in really resonated with me. I feel Northwest is truly seeking to be the church God wants us to be and I feel blessed to be a part of that family."

"In coming to NWCC I found everyone to be exceptionally friendly and sincere! People remembered my name each week and went out of their way to make myself and my husband feel welcome and a part of the church family. We have built lasting friendships and look forward to building many more as NWCC has become our church family. We look forward to coming to church, exploring God’s word, participating in area’s of the church, and continuing to grow in our walk with the Lord as we serve him, the children of his Kingdom and continue to seek the lost of this world. NWCC truly cares about God’s people, we are all in this together!"

"They pay me to come to church every week! It’s great!

Ok, just kidding. Seriously though, I’ve served at several different churches in the past 16 years or so, either part time or full time and it’s very rare to find a church that has a great staff, leadership, AND congregation. NWCC is one of those rare churches that has all three – where the staff, leadership, and congregation all are unified, loving, and committed to serving Jesus Christ. It’s a real privilege to be a part of what God is doing here at Northwest."

"The atmosphere is both relaxed and focused at the same time. You can only accomplish that by a lot of hard work and prayer."

"I was heartbroken after we left a church we had belonged to for 10 years. We searched for a long time. We had a list – as choosing a church must be a mutually healthy union. ...it had to be functional, doctrinally sound, a place of reference for our young childrens’ concept of church, a place where we could be fed as well as use our gifts. Our long search ended after a night on our knees. The next day, we found Northwest online. We found out they were building only 18 minutes from our home in Cartersville. The Lord is good. He has blessed us and after 3 years, I can say that every criteria we had on our "list" has been fulfilled and more. Never have I seen such a hard working and loving group of believers."

"Over several years, my dishonesty, selfishness and secret sins resulted in my life becoming unmanageable. Though a humiliating experience, my problems were painfully brought to my attention and to my family. I sought Christ-centered guidance from the staff at NWCC to overcome many addictive behaviors. Over several months, I began to get involved in the church as a member of Christ's body, and to develop key accountability relationships with men at NWCC who genuinely care about me. I was in great need of help in keeping my self-centered nature under control and to live my life as a man and father as God had always intended for me.

Now my character is being developed by the daily discipline of duties done. By God's grace and mercy, I have true peace for the very first time; by being obedient to heavenly visions and by taking the straight way. My life is now full of care for others, meditation and prayer, and service to others. Each day, I am finding true strength to do my work in the busy ways of life. The love and support which I receive at NWCC mean more to me than I could ever express! "

"I have thought about this question so often, or how to answer I should say. What has happened to me and my family as a result of coming to NWCC is just unfathomable. You know my journey with God began about 16 years ago, I guess about 4 years ago God directed me here to Acworth Ga, who would’ve thought that would ever happen. But then almost 3 years ago my life CHANGED, That was when we walked through the doors of NWCC and my walk with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ began. It is sometimes hard for me to put words to how I feel about NWCC, its my home, its where my brothers and sisters are, its where my family and I serve the Lord. I believe the people make up the Church, we are the BODY, and here at Northwest it is the people we care so much about!

My family and I are so blessed to be part of such a testimony to serve God’s people. To always accept people for who they are, to never judge just LOVE."
